Juno Moneta is the guise of Juno as quartermaster and fundraiser. As the spouse left behind on the home front, it is the lovely Juno who arranges the materials and financing of the war effort. She has a special role whenever money comes into focus.
We were recently visiting family and afterward my husband wanted to see the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. We toured the museum and then went to a nearby restaurant at the end of the lunch rush. The entire restaurant was packed but we were able to obtain a table fairly quickly. After eating we handed over a credit card to pay when we were told that the entire town had an internet outage. “Had not they told us at the door?” The girl at the front had said nothing. Short about ten dollars in cash, the local bank could not resolve the issue as it was too late in the day for a transfer from our bank and my husband hurried to drive out of town to find a place with internet access where he could obtain some additional cash. My cell phone was dying with less than 10% on the battery. An hour later, he arrived back with enough to pay the bill but we were perilously low on cash and hundreds of miles away from home. Fortunately, no other incidents occurred and we made it home but with the adage two is one and one is none, I ordered significantly more cash for a upcoming foreign trip than I otherwise would have done.

The event had brought attention to Money. Juno Moneta. What had happened? We were blocked from using our money technology. Aquarius Juno. She was there partnered with Pluto but blocked by Chiron. The blocked form of payment. Chiron is at 0° Taurus (30° Aries). The Sabian symbol is “a duck pond and its brood.” Underneath it suggests the word for this is reliability. The idea is that a small pond is a safe defined world for the ducks. Chiron is the unhealed wound. This particular duck pond was cut off. Thus abandoned by the physical connection to the rest of the world, the retrograde Aquarius Juno (my credit card) found herself blocked.
During that hour while my husband drove around and I waited at the restaurant I thought about how isolated I would be, if something happened to him. I was far from home. A stranger in a strange land. No money. No vehicle. Very limited means to communicate with anyone else. I felt very isolated from my own little duck pond. This moment demonstrated how dependent I was on others. My reaction was to send a text telling him no matter what to be careful and not rush. It is what it is. At 0° Taurus, this is how the Aries zodiac sign ends. The realization of true aloneness leading to Taurus which is your own true physical sufficiency. I cut off everything to preserve my cell phone battery and began making a plan on how I would address the issue on my own. I went down a list of three individuals who could possibly assist and how. I considered asking if I could zelle someone there the money using my phone. It wasn’t a elegant solution but I could solve the problem numerous ways.
The retrograde Aquarius Pluto came thru in the end. My spouse returned and paid the bill. Pluto was sextile 4° Aries Neptune. Out in the Neptunian hinterland, he had found a place that would accept the credit card and allow cash back. Together we embodied this chart. My husband was the embodiment of the 26° Scorpio Ascendant. The Sabian symbol is “indians making camp”. The word associated with this is extemporization. I sat in the restaurant for an hour while he went to a local bank, then drove to a grocery store on the outskirts of town and then down a road toward the town we were staying in that night where I had told him how many stores were along the route. Fortunately he did not have to drive all the way. We had purchased parking at an all day lot where we had to write our license plate on the payment envelope so he just parked back at the same place he left.
I embodied the 26° Taurus Descendant. The Sabian symbol is “a Spaniard serenading his senorita.” My role was to be calm and capable finding the best options in the area with simple route directions and landmarks to help orient him. I also came up with a plan if the first option failed. I have never minded eating alone so I was not upset to wait patiently as the marker for our meal.
Together we were both the Juno-Pluto and the Ceres-Mars. Those were the two situations that described the event. Together with me as Juno, as it was my credit card that was blocked, and him as Pluto in a place of eating (second house). Then we transitioned to me as Ceres, I use this planet to rule Taurus, in the eighth house. I became the marker for our debt while he went out as active Mars in the seventh. Why in the midst of all those people was it our chart that resonated with us playing it out in our small way. I looked into the geographic element but that didn’t seem to explain it. However our composite chart does ring the bell I think. Our composite IC is tightly conjunct the Juno-Pluto sitting on Pluto but slightly on the Juno side. Our composite south node is conjunct the 0° Taurus Chiron. From this, it looks like we had to eat a bit of karmic fruit from something in our past.
This chart illustrates how Juno can be activated in the chart as she was the driving motivator to execute the energy of the chart. This also highlights how Aries transitions into Taurus. Aries stands out building from Neptune but then realizes that the self must be built. Realization that one has been cut off from one’s small duck pond, easily highlighted how one’s own resources can become the new focus.
