There is a new book on football legend Tom Brady which has suggested an astrology article in a magazine may have been the final nail in the coffin of his marriage to supermodel Gisele Bündchen. I highly doubt that it rated highly in the reasons for divorce. The book purports to say that Gisele may have believed that incompatibility in astrology was somehow involved. For a couple with two childen who were together for some sixteen years, thirteen of them married, it is very unlikely that their astrology is incompatible.

There is a tight aspect between Tom and Gisele that is defined in minutes not degrees. It is highlighted in the synastry chart. His Leo Saturn in his tenth house is sextile her Gemini Venus in her sixth house and her Libra Pluto in her tenth house. It is emotional inheritance. The Pluto planet is the actor and in this instance represents a consort. The north node is the forward path in a person’s life. It is the place you are consuming new raw resources. It is the place that is driving you forward.
The role of the consort can be the heir apparent, the second in command or the power behind the throne. Gisele has commented that for the parts of the year when Tom Brady was playing football the family fell to her to manage largely by herself.
After examining both of their individual charts and their relationship chart, it is apparent to me that they had a soul contract for this connection. Tom is driven to be himself, his Ascendant, by his Cancer Venus in the ninth house. While Gisele may have superficially met that love picture by being a young Cancer Sun who had come from a foreign land, it was instead his great love in partnering with teammates on the gamefield that allowed him to be himself. A further complicating factor is that his Venus is loosely conjunct Jupiter supersizing the rulership in his life. The ninth house is places that broaden your horizons and staying home with the children and family was not the place Tom Brady would be able to manifest his north node path.
Additionally, Tom Brady has the glyph of Persephone (♇⚳) nearby. Kidnapped. There is a reason that he went to seven Super Bowls with two teams. This intense element does not leave one with a choice.
Still there is deep compatibility in the chart, Gisele has a Leo north node in the eighth house. Being the consort of a famous husband absolutely pulled her forward on her path in life. Tom’s Leo Saturn is conjunct that north node and Gisele is ruled by Saturn. Her own Midheaven is conjunct her Libra Mars. Tom who is a Libra Ascendant and looks every bit the part also has an Aries Moon that is conjunct her Imum Coeli. It seems when she saw his smile she believed he was the one. His appearance seems to have activated her Venus-Pluto trine.
Since he met her requirements for her path in life and she met his requirements for a consort that supported his path in life, the question really is why did they divorce? The answer seems to found in the astrology with her second husband. While his birth time is not available, we can see his birthday planets. Joaquim Valente probably has a Aquarius Moon conjunct her south node and does have a node reversal with her. His Aquarius north node is conjunt her Aquarius south node. Tom Brady did not have a supportive aspect with her south node. His Leo Saturn was in opposition. Having been the consort for their marriage, she was ready to begin using her network to build her own resources. She has an Aquarius south node in her second house. Her new husband’s Moon is likely supportive and he is a Scorpio Sun-Pluto-Mercury and has a karmic path that needs to develop network, friendship and other things of Aquarius. These are things Gisele already has. He appears to be her consort. It has been reported that she has said he is her best friend which argues that Aquarius is indeed at the foundation of their relationship.
As a Cancer Sun, it is apparent that she has focused on family even going so far as to have a third child with her new husband. Gisele has an Aries fourth house. It is her energy that has Aries in the home. Tom Brady had his Aries Moon and south node there and probably was quite comfortable in that environment, it remains to be seen if the new husband is as comfortable.
My mother often told my father, wherever you go there you are. Instead of understanding the problem, it is all to easy to try a change which can give a temporary reprieve but usually just masks the problem for a short time. As a Cancer Sun with a Taurus Chiron, it is possible that the problem might be a failure to understand that Cancer energy needs to be expressed outwardly. The Taurus Chiron can indicate a wound to stability. Cancer can be quite needy when expressed internally. It creates a bottomless neediness to belong but that is not what Cancer should be.
