Astrology in the southern hemisphere seems like a different animal than the northern hemisphere. The art of astrology is northern hemisphere centric. The infinity sign may suggest something of an answer as to how to deal with the zodiac. While we end up in the same place, maybe there is another path to get there. The Aquarius Pluto transit has been notoriously hard on legislative bodies. Snap election after snap election. Upending results. Ruling parties and coalitions take it on the chin. If one party is supposed to win, they go down in defeat. EU goes right. France goes left. Ireland holds. Germany goes right. America goes right. UK goes left. Canada wants to go right but runs into a tariff wall and, most likely, holds. Aquarius Pluto is transforming legislatures.

Pluto has a pattern of rebirth. First, the destruction followed by the rebuilding. This all equals transformation. That’s the northern hemisphere version at least but maybe it is different in Australia. In the northern hemisphere, the transformation has come from outside. The people create internal pressue and one party emerges with ideas that better represent the people. Maybe in Australia instead a party will transform inside from internal pressures and from that the people will find themselves transforming.
The winner of the 2025 Australian election is none other than the Aquarius Pluto. Pluto is conjunct the I.C. and is transforming the foundation of the government. The opposition, Descendant ruler, is the Pisces Ceres. But the real opposition is the Leo Mars on the Midheaven. This is a pressure cooker situation. The people, represented by the Moon, are in the very feminine zodiac sign of Cancer, pregnancy, mothers and home. They are moving toward the opposition early in the term. Australians, as the Moon, are in exact opposition to the winner of the election by Christmas. If the conservatives are the Pisces Ceres, they are dissolving and being consumed, and yet the Taurus Sun suggests conservatism is not done in Australia. The Leo Mars is ruled by the life giving Taurus Sun.
Seeing a party transform from inside may well be one of the results of this election. Being so close to the Canadian election, the same saltire is present in the skies. The results also have a similiar flavor with the winning party taking the headlines and parliament but maybe not the cultural leadership. The Aquarius Pluto is ruled by the Taurus Uranus. The Leo Mars is ruled by the Taurus Sun. Both the Sun and Uranus are ruled by the Pisces Ceres. Ending what went before, the Australia asteroid is in Aries. A new beginning.
Hi
You may know by now that the Australian federal election was resoundingly won by the incumbent Labor Party, led by Anthony Albanese. The opposition Liberal leader, Peter Dutton, not only lost the election, but his own seat.
I think the poor condition of the 7th house has a lot to say about Dutton’s downfall. Taurus on the 7th cusp is ruled by Venus in Aries, in detriment and conjunct Neptune, suggesting a confused state of affairs – Mr. Dutton made several blunders during his campaign. Uranus in Taurus in 7 may refer to his advocated nuclear policy, but Uranus is conjunct Caput Algol, indicating how he “lost his head” in promoting an impractical policy.
It was to be expected that Mr Dutton would find himself in upsetting circumstances, since transiting Uranus opposes his natal Sun in Scorpio (18/11/70), while the Sun in Taurus on May 3rd was opposite his Venus in Scorpio.
Very interesting. I have stayed away from southern hemisphere astrology because it seems slightly different to me from my usual interpretation. Still I didn’t want to leave Australia out. The chart seemed to me that it showed the conservatives having a bad day. Taurus Sun in the 6h would be conservatives in the workshop. Fundamentally, it seems they need to transform to match the incoming Aquarius Pluto tides. With Leo on the Midheaven, ruled by the Taurus Sun, and the Australian Moon progressing toward Leo, their chance is coming.
