Iran is not only a nation but the last remnant of the ancient Persian civilization. It’s origin is so far back no founding date is known. The empire began in the year 550 BC. Through symbols, it retains the Lion and Sun zodiac symbol which has been a feature of Persia throughout. This symbol was from the zodiac and is a statement that the Sun was in the house of the Lion or in the Leo zodiac sign. The picture above is the earliest representation of this ancient symbol on the banner of Genghis Khan’s horsemen but older representations of lions exist even earlier. A bas relief from about 900 BC has the Sun and Moon gods standing on a Lion.
Persia must be a Leo. We are so used to thinking of Aquarius Pluto as being a challenge to Leonine princes we don’t read it literally, Aquarius is exile. Pluto rules dead things. The death of exile. Rebirth of the common people. It appears that the imperial rule of a Leonine Persian emperor is not dead but living in the hearts and mind of the people of Iran. In 1979, when the Shah left Iran for a vacation knowing it was his exile, the 10,000 rial note had a picture of him. Protestors cut his face from the bill and pasted in the Ayatollah Khomeini who at that time was exiled and living in Paris. That bill was worth $144 then and today the 10,000 rial note has a picture of the Ayatollah Khamenei and is worth an American penny. Today, the protestors are calling for the Shah’s Crown Prince to return and set up a government. Iranian forces are shooting protestors who throng the streets of Tehran and other cities.
The American President Jimmy Carter believed that Iran would be better governed by the protestors who supported the Ayatollah with support from the Soviet Union and so he abandoned the Shah. The Shah left and the world received a religiously intolerant state led by leaders who wanted to destroy Israel first and America second. Protestors on the day the Shah left celebrated in the streets saying the Shah is gone, America is next. Later that year, the protesters attacked the embassy and took 52 Americans hostage leading to the Iranian hostage crises. Carter sent in the military in to rescue the hostages but then ordered the mission aborted due to mechanical issues. In the withdrawal, one of the helicopters crashed and killed 8 American servicemen. Iraq was prepared to invade Iran and topple Khomeini and wanted the tacit support of America to do so but Khomeini had threatened to execute the hostages.
President Carter was probably the nicest man America has ever elected but he is also the reason a nuclear Iran has haunted Israel and America. At Reagan’s inauguration while he was taking his oath, Khomeini released the hostages.
America abandoned Iran. The Shah abandoned Iran. Iran’s cult of death began when the Shah left. The Sagittarius Neptune in the eleventh was the Ayatollah. Neptune is sextile the Libra Pluto in the eighth. The Scorpio Uranus was conjunct the Midheaven and lay at one of the focal points of the sextile. This is a very strong astrological tool that is not countered by anything in the 1979 chart. The protestors, as Uranus, dominate the chart as the ruler and positioned on the Midheaven. The Shah is the retrograde Leo Jupiter square Chiron. He is retreating and injured. The Shah was already stricken with cancer and died eighteen months later in exile. The Iranian Sun is in the twelfth hidden behind the palace walls, in seclusion.
The progressed chart of the exile at the time of the current protests shows Jupiter is currently in focus, interacting with Aquarius Venus and Aries Mercury. The angry youth and alienated women.
It Looks Like the Shah Could Return in July 2026
We await a new horoscope to tell more of the tale. It will likely be a July 2026 horoscope. If the Aquarius Pluto is the end of the exile, we need to look to the return of Jupiter and Jupiter is set to return to Leo this year. This seems to give evidence that Jupiter’s ingress into Leo will correspond with the return of the Shah. At the end of June, Jupiter will begin to square Chiron again at 0. It will reach the exact square of July 1, 2026. Jupiter will move into Leo and oppose the Aquarius Pluto on July 20, 2026. It will reach 5° Leo on July 23-24, returning again to the location where the exile of the Shah began.
Early July may be pivotal. Not only will Jupiter be square Chiron again but the sextile between the Aries Neptune and Pluto also reappears. Revealing the Iranian Sun, the chart is ruled by the Leo Venus. On July 23, Jupiter moves into a trine with Neptune and opposition with Pluto. This looks good for the Shah.
On July 23, the symbol of the Shah merges with the Ayatollah symbol. A very tight cradle pattern forms with the Gemini Uranus. This moment suggests the Shah must return from exile. Interesting that the return is not a defeat but a coming together.
