The Astrology of the Cancer Jupiter – God, Country, Family

A young friend of mine from Texas went through a breakup on September 10th. The same day as the Charlie Kirk assassination. The September 7th eclipse energy was a hard brake followed by a dramatic course correction. The eclipse in the mountain west openned in Scorpio putting the Aquarius Pluto center stage but, in the east and central plains of the United States, the eclipse opened in Sagittarius spotlighting the 19° Cancer Jupiter. God, Country, Family. The United States has a natal Cancer Jupiter that rules its Sagittarius Ascendant.

The September 2025 eclipse chart. The Virgo Sun is on the Sabian symbol “an ornamental hankerchief”.

God, Country, Family comes from the combination of two Latin phrases. Pro aris et focis. For hearth and home. And Pro Deo et patria. For God and country. This is the marines lifting the flag at Iwo Jima. This is the call of the SEALs upon the death of bin Laden. “For God and country, Geronimo, Geronimo, Geronimo. Geronimo EKIA.” Jupiter is the priest, the questor, the detective. He is seeking something. Cancer is the zodiac sign ruled by the Moon. Mother. Milk. That which sustains and protects us when we are most vulnerable. This is a quest for the very foundation of our soul.

The Cancer Jupiter is guiding the course correction. What flag are we lifting up from the chaos? Aries Neptune, a new karma. Scorpio Juno conjunct Scorpio Vesta in the twelfth house. Rejuvenation and manifestation from the past. What good remains from the chaos that can be rejuvenated? My friend’s natal chart ties into the eclipse chart and his nodal opposition is nigh.

He has a strong Scorpio signature. Scorpio Sun, Chiron, Moon and Mercury. Neptune and Uranus in the eighth house. Scorpio is the scorpion, eagle and phoenix. The Scorpion hides in the refuse. The Eagle soars but returns to earth to eat carrion. The Phoenix burns off the old dying bird and flys free. He is fighting through his eagle stage to the phoenix. He accepts they have broken up but is fighting not to look back. Seeking his soul, hanging up his scorpion stinger, will the tailfeathers he chooses to wear be those of an eagle or a phoenix?

The men on Iwo Jima weren’t looking back. In the midst of the battle, they raised their flag. God, Country, Family. Three of the men pictured were killed in the battle. It is hard not to read the eclipse as a national chart but, as my friend has learned, this energy will be worked out personally by each one of us. The eclipse Cancer Jupiter in the eighth is seeking its true mother while walking through hell. We each have to define What God? What Country? What Family? What do we want to manifest for this new karmic beginning? What flag are you raising? The Virgo Sun is conjunct the Midheaven and south node. Producing new life. Manifesting rejuvenated karma. Putting it at the highest point of the sky. Raising the flag on Mount Suribachi while the battle rages below. The Cancer Jupiter is the quest for family, for country. God. Country. Family. Cancer Jupiter.
